STORYTELLING

EASTSIDE, BIRMINGHAM

This district of Birmingham City Centre is undergoing a major redevelopment of a larger Big City Plan project. Through my observation, I could see that this area is a home to a massive complex of factories and workshops, and also some housing areas. It is composed of high brick-wall-buildings, and some form of vandalism could be seen to have taken place in this area (graffiti art). Some of the buildings however did maintained it’s aesthetical value by being painted in a form of art. The railway there still functions well, and trains could be seen running every now and then.

The site is indeed within a walking distance from the bullring shopping centre and millennium point, making it a high potential place to be developed. Redevelopment of this area will make the city centre of Birmingham itself a larger place of interest, becoming a mega magnet that attracts more visitors to the city.
